Badminton in 2026: three world events decided, the World Tour still running.

Three of badminton's 2026 world events are finished, the BWF World Tour is still running and its Finals are in December. The BWF's own sites could not be opened for this research, so most results here rest on press reports or Wikipedia, and each one says which.

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) runs all of these. Its websites returned an access error throughout this research and no BWF results page turned up in searches, so the results below come from press reports and Wikipedia; each is labelled. Matches in 2026 are played under the 3 x 21 rally scoring in the Laws of Badminton; the 3 x 15 format the BWF adopted on 25 April 2026 takes effect on 4 January 2027 (see badminton).

BWF World Championships 2026: finished

A Badminton Association of India release, carried by the Arunachal Times on 25 August 2026, puts the championships at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi, from 17 to 23 August 2026. Wikipedia calls the venue the Indira Gandhi Arena and the event the 30th edition.

Wikipedia's medal table puts Korea and France on two golds each and China on one gold, two silvers and three bronzes, with Japan on two silvers.

Thomas Cup and Uber Cup 2026: finished

Search summaries of Wikipedia and of a racket maker's blog give the dates as 24 April to 3 May 2026 at Forum Horsens, Denmark; no BWF page confirmed them. The finals below are from one press report, Badminton Planet's of 3 May 2026.

China were the defending Uber Cup champions. Search summaries say France were in their first Thomas Cup final, that China's title was their 12th and second in a row, and that Korea's Uber Cup was their third; those counts were not on any page read in full, so they are unconfirmed.

Para Badminton World Championships 2026: finished

Wikipedia gives the 15th edition as held at Isa Sports City, Manama, Bahrain, with 22 events, and China top of the medal table with 11 golds, ahead of Japan (3) and India (2). The event's start date is given two ways: the BWF's June 2025 announcement, as summarised in a search result, said 7 to 14 February 2026 and called Manama the first Middle East host, while Wikipedia gives 8 to 14 February. Individual champions were not part of the research.

No Sudirman Cup in 2026

The Sudirman Cup, the mixed-team world championship, has no 2026 edition. The next is in 2027: press reports of 14 October 2026, from the IANS news agency, say the BWF named Beijing host for 21 April to 2 May 2027, with a new 12-day format for 24 member associations, and that Beijing last hosted in 2005. The BWF's own announcement could not be opened, so these details are unconfirmed.

World Tour 2026: in progress

The 2026 HSBC BWF World Tour is still running; the Badminton Association of India's calendar, dated 15 August 2026, lists World Tour events into December. No season winner or year-end ranking leader is given here.

The season-ending World Tour Finals are listed for Hangzhou, China, from 9 to 13 December 2026, in a search summary of a national federation's page; the Indian calendar also places the Finals in Hangzhou in December, though its text came out jumbled. No BWF page was read, so the dates are unconfirmed. A 2023 trade-press report, seen only in a search summary, said Hangzhou would host the Finals from 2023 to 2027.
