Squash, 2026

Squash in 2026: the 2025-26 season's big titles, and what the 2026-27 season holds.

Squash's professional season runs from late summer to June, so the 2026 world and British titles belong to the 2025-26 PSA season, which is finished. The 2026-27 season started in September. Neither the PSA's nor World Squash's results pages turned up in the searches made for this research, so each result says what it rests on.

The Professional Squash Association (PSA) runs the professional tour and its world championships. World Squash (the World Squash Federation) runs the national-team and junior world events. More on the two is on squash bodies and tours.

PSA World Championships 2026: finished

The championships were played at the Palm Hills Club in Giza, Egypt, with both finals on Saturday 16 May 2026, according to Egyptian Streets, a press report of 17 May. A search summary of Wikipedia gives the event dates as 8 to 16 May 2026; that is unconfirmed.

FinalResult
Men's[1] Mostafa Asal (EGY) d. Youssef Ibrahim (EGY) 11-4 11-1 12-10
Women'sAmina Orfi (EGY) d. Nour ElSherbini (EGY), the defending champion, 6-11 11-6 11-9 7-11 14-12, in 1 hour 46 minutes

The scores are from Egyptian Streets. The championships' own website headlines confirm both winners: it reports Asal winning his second world title in three games, and calls Orfi the youngest ever winner. Egyptian Streets says Asal retained his title against a first-time finalist, and that Orfi's win denied ElSherbini a ninth world title.

Egyptian Streets also reports that Orfi, at 18, is the youngest women's world champion, the first player to hold the world junior and senior titles at the same time, and that the final was reportedly the longest women's match in the championship's history. Those are the newspaper's claims; the PSA did not confirm them in anything read for this research.

British Open 2026: finished

FinalResult
Men's[2] Paul Coll (NZL) d. [1] Mostafa Asal (EGY) 9-11 11-3 11-6, Asal retiring at the start of the fourth game
Women's[3] Amina Orfi (EGY) d. [2] Nour ElSherbini (EGY) 7-11 11-8 11-5 11-8, in 64 minutes

The results are from Squash Mad, a specialist squash news site, on 7 June 2026; a squash maker's magazine blog reports the same champions. Squash Mad says Asal retired after a 115-minute semi-final, that the title was Coll's third British Open after 2021 and 2022, and that Orfi became the youngest women's British Open champion, breaking the record set by Susan Noel in 1932 at 19 years and eight months.

The venue is given in search summaries as the Rep Theatre in Birmingham, and the finals date as 7 June 2026 is inferred from the date of Squash Mad's report. Both are unconfirmed.

PSA Squash Tour Finals 2025-26: finished

SquashInfo, a specialist squash results site, reports that the season-ending Tour Finals were held at Centquatre-Paris, the first time the event was staged in France. The finals below rest on one press report, SquashInfo's of 21 June 2026; no PSA page was read.

  • Men's: Diego Elias (PER) d. Paul Coll (NZL) 7-11 11-4 11-6 11-9. SquashInfo calls Elias the first South American to win the Tour Finals and says his semi-final opponent, Mostafa Asal, withdrew through illness.
  • Women's: Hania El Hammamy (EGY) d. Sivasangari Subramaniam (MAS) 11-6 10-11 11-8 11-8, which SquashInfo says was her second Tour Finals title.

World Squash Junior Championships 2026: finished

Squash Mad, in a press report of 1 August 2026, says Egypt kept both junior team titles at Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada, beating Malaysia in the women's final and the United States in the men's; it counts them as Egypt's 13th women's and ninth men's junior team titles. That is one press report. A search summary of a Squash Canada page gives the championships' dates as 20 to 31 July 2026, which is unconfirmed. The individual junior champions were not collected.

2026-27 PSA Squash Tour: in progress

The new season started in September 2026; a search summary of a squash news site says it opened with the London Squash Classic at Alexandra Palace from 1 to 6 September 2026, which is unconfirmed. No season winner or ranking leader is given here.

The PSA World Championships website's banner gives the 2026-27 championships as 27 March to 4 April 2027 in London, England. A banner is all the research saw, so the dates are unconfirmed.

World Squash Team Championships 2026: upcoming

World Squash awarded the 2026 World Team Championships to Korea. Squash Mad, reporting on 29 September 2025 and quoting World Squash's chief executive William Louis-Marie, says they will be played in December 2026 at the Cheongju International Squash Stadium in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province, which has eight courts including one glass court, with a show court to be added, and that the men's and women's events will run together, as they did in Hong Kong in 2024. A South African press report gives the dates as 14 to 19 December 2026; that is a single report and unconfirmed.

Wikipedia records that Egypt won the 2024 men's World Team Championship in Hong Kong, with England runners-up.
